National Palace Museum Visit
Time & Location
About the Event
The National Palace Museum is one of Taipei's most popular destinations located in the popular Shilin district. The museum shares its roots with the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City and boasts a collection of nearly 700,000 imperial pieces spanning 8,000 years of history.
Museums are a great way to introduce students to a culture they are less familiar with and they provide educational benefits not found on a university campus. From the Paifang structures outside of the building, to the astounding collections of bronze and ceramics, to the mesmerizing calligraphy, there is no shortage of spectacles to marvel on this visit.
The National Palace museum is the perfect Saturday afternoon to spend appreciating the rich, Chinese history with new classmates. In addition, the Shilin district provides many options for food and shopping before or after the visit, including the famous Shilin night market. Thanks to Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, IMBA students should take the opportunity to enjoy the National Palace Museum with their Buddy group on this wonderful outing.
